Amanbagh
Amanbagh, built within a walled enclosure, on an oasis of fertile soil, benefits lucratively from the natural feed of a nearby lake, resulting in an exotic and diverse display of perennials: statuesque palms, aged eucalyptus, fruit bearing trees, frangipani trees and lawns of manicured jade green, a dramatic
contrast to its neighbouring rugged and hilly terrain. Styled along authentic architectural Moghul-era-lines, Amanbagh pays grand tribute to its remarkable ancestors through its eloquent, unique interpretation of a grand haveli. The inspired use of local materials for the period details and lavish interiors; floors of
softly hued pink marble or makrana, and domed cupolas and inner courtyards of pale smooth sandstone; evoke the lustre and splendour of India’s golden age. Amanbagh is a secluded and luxuriant ‘portal’, offering visitors the opportunity to discover and explore the fascinating remnants of an extraordinary local history,
as well as the colourful culture and wildlife that flourishes today. the details cuisine The Restaurant is positioned on the lower floor of the main building and provides an intimate atmosphere beneath its double-height ceiling. Seating is either banquette-style or at tables which flow onto the outside terrace. The
food is simple, home-style, Indian cuisine with a choice of Western dishes also available. An alternative, informal dining venue is next to the swimming pool. Here, the dining is outdoors beneath a covered colonnade and lunchtime fare includes sandwiches, salads and simple traditional Indian snacks. The Library
Terrace, located on the upper floor of the main building, is ideal for informal dining in the evening, particularly during the hotter months when a cool breeze may be enjoyed under a starlit sky. The Bar and Lounge is located opposite the Restaurant and offers a cosy place to relax and unwind. The Roof Terrace, which
is elevated above a canopy of trees and provides sweeping views over the surrounding landscape, is another option for dining and refreshments. library The Library and Reading Terrace are located on the second level of the main building. There are a variety of reference books on the history, arts, culture and wildlife
of India as well as a selection of novels, magazines, newspapers, audio CDs and board games. Internet access is available via one desktop computer. boutique The two-storey Boutique offers the region's finest selection of silverware, jewellery, textiles and fashion. A variety of convenience items is also available. spa
A team of highly-skilled therapists provides a range of healing therapies as well as more traditional treatments such as facials, massages and scrubs. These are available in the resort's spa treatment rooms or in guest havelis. swimming pool The Swimming Pool is centred within the resort's gardens and measures 33m by
12m. Light meals and snacks are available poolside throughout the day. Beyond the swimming pool is the wading pool measuring 12m by 12m. Both pools remain cool throughout the summer and are heated during the colder months. location & map Amanbagh sits in a walled oasis at the head of a gorge which opens into a large
valley. Flooded during the monsoon season, it becomes a lake which gradually recedes throughout the year until the monsoon rains return. Surrounding the valley and providing a catchment for the rain are rocky hills and knolls that support sporadic and hardy vegetation. The desolate hills make for an interesting visual
contrast to the plains below. New Delhi, with its broad boulevards and tree-lined avenues, is the primary gateway to Amanresorts' stays in northern India. The international airport is located approximately 35km from the city centre. Car transfers from the Delhi airport to Amanbagh takes approximately 4½ hours at a
cost of US$200++ per car per way.
havelis & pavilions
Amanbagh is designed with an aesthetic eye and pays homage to its princely heritage and historical landscape, culminating in a contemporary sanctuary entwined in the luxuriant spoils of a rural setting. The evocative moods of its grand ‘Moghul’ past are portrayed in the sandstone cupolas and inner courtyards with
serene soft pink marble featured extensively. Amanbagh’s 24 Haveli Suites and 16 Pool Pavilions exude the richness of the Moghul era that inspired them: set in a lush oasis of verdant wooded foliage, there is also a striking and refreshing 33m pool which is heated in the cooler months as well as a large wading pool.
At night the geometric lines of the resort are defined by the atmospheric incandescence while the pools reflections’ dance to the sway of the palms and aromatic eucalyptus trees under a pristine starlit sky.
courtyard haveli suite Eight Courtyard Haveli Suites are located on the ground level of two dwellings on either side of the swimming pool. The entrance to each is via a courtyard with an outdoor dining area. Inside, there is a living area with a large banquette, two armchairs and a writing desk. Beyond is a private
courtyard. The adjacent bedroom has a soaring domed ceiling and king-size bed whilst the bathroom is filled with natural light from windows facing the court. Each Courtyard Haveli Suite is fitted with a sound system and personal bar.

The bathroom features a spacious dressing area, twin vanities, separate shower and a bathtub, carved from one piece of marble, located in the centre of the room under a domed ceiling.
